Neck and back injuries from auto accidents are more complex than many other types of injuries.  Even if there is no visible damage to the bone on x-ray, there may be extensive damage to the spinal soft tissues:  ligaments, tendons, muscle, joint capsules and discs.  Proper evaluation and treatment by a provider specially trained in this type of trauma is essential to complete recovery.  Dr. Kleker has had extensive post graduate training in soft tissue injuries.

Connective tissue is the thread that binds the soft tissues.  When injured it heals by a process of microscopic scar formation.  This scar is weaker, more pain sensitive and less elastic than normal tissue.  To prevent permanent impairment, treatment must address these problems by remodeling this scar tissue.  This is accomplished by manipulation of spinal joints, deep tissue massage and rehabilitative exercise.
